Terms of Service
1. What Pylon Weekly Pools is
Pylon Weekly Pools is a skill-based prediction contest run by Pylon Pools, Inc. ("Pylon," "we"). Each week you may enter a free-form pick sheet forecasting the outcome of scheduled NFL games. The highest score wins the pool; ties split. Full contest mechanics — entry price, block rules, scoring, tiebreaker — appear in the entry sheet itself and are subject to change between weeks (see worldcup.pylonpools.com… [TODO: replace with weekly rules link]).
2. Non-custodial pool structure
Pool funds are held on-chain, not by Pylon. Entries pay directly into a smart contract (the "Escrow") that we do not control — Pylon can post results, but cannot move pool funds. Winners claim their share themselves. The Escrow's public address and source code are published; anyone can independently verify the pool balance and recompute the winners.
A Squads multisig holds the authority to post results only. Its member wallets and threshold are disclosed. Neither Pylon nor any single Squads member can withdraw pool funds.
3. Beta phases
- Phase A (now): Demo mode — no real money changes hands. Entries are recorded to demonstrate the mechanics.
- Phase B (internal test): Real USDC entries to a Squads multisig, friends + family only, tiny amounts, clearly labeled as a test. Not open to the public.
- Phase C (public launch): Escrow smart contract in place; entries permissionless; winners self-claim. This is the version described in Section 2.
The site will indicate which phase is live at any given time.
4. Eligibility
You may enter only if all of the following are true:
- You are at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater).
- You are legally permitted to participate in a skill-based paid prediction contest in your jurisdiction of residence.
- You are not resident in an Excluded Jurisdiction (see Section 5).
- You are entering with your own funds and your own picks.
5. Excluded jurisdictions
At launch, entries are not accepted from residents of:
- The United States of America (all 50 states, D.C., and territories).
- The provinces of Ontario and Alberta, Canada.
- Any jurisdiction where paid prediction contests are prohibited by local law.
The Excluded Jurisdiction list may expand at any time based on legal or regulatory developments. It is your responsibility to confirm your own jurisdiction's rules before entering.
6. Guarantee, prize funding, and overlay
Any advertised guarantee amount (e.g., "$X GUARANTEED") reflects the minimum prize pool for that week. If entry fees do not cover the guarantee, Pylon contributes the shortfall as a disclosed house overlay — this overlay is players' money to win, competes on identical terms with any other entries, and is fully disclosed. Pylon does not place masked or hidden entries against the field.
7. What we don't do
- We do not custody your funds. Pool money lives in the Escrow, not in a Pylon-controlled wallet.
- We do not sell, share, or otherwise disclose your wallet address or e-mail beyond what's necessary to operate the pool and comply with law.
- We do not use your picks to trade against you.
- We do not offer investment advice. Nothing on this site is a solicitation to buy or sell any security or token.
8. Disputes, changes, cancellations
If a scheduled game is cancelled, postponed past the pool's resolution window, or otherwise cannot be officially resolved, it will be treated per the rulebook posted with that week's pool (typically: correct-for-everyone, matching the on-chain Escrow's tie/void handling). NFL.com is the authoritative results source.
Pylon may cancel or modify a pool before the entry lock time. If cancelled before lock, all deposits are refundable via the Escrow. After lock, the Escrow governs — Pylon cannot unilaterally alter payouts.
9. Winner claims
Winners claim their prize by signing a transaction from the winning wallet against
the Escrow. Claims must be made within a disclosed claim window
(defaults to end-of-season for a given weekly pool). Prizes not claimed by the
claim deadline roll forward into a subsequent Pylon pool per the Escrow's
sweep_unclaimed logic — no funds are retained by Pylon absent
disclosure.
10. Limitation of liability
[Placeholder — this section will be drafted by counsel and will include standard limitation-of-liability language, indemnification, and dispute-resolution provisions consistent with the Escrow's on-chain finality.]
